2005 Festival Anouncement: Langerado Music Festival Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
The 2005 festival season begins early in South Florida, starting with the March 12-13
Langerado Music Festival near Ft. Lauderdale. Building on past success, the third edition of the event has expanded to two days, covering more than 25 bands on three stages at Markham Park, a 600-acre facility on the eastern edge of Florida's Everglades Conservation area.
The lineup reads like a Who's Who of the jam scene's best and brightest, including
String Cheese Incident (two nights), Medeski Martin & Wood, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Particle, Umphrey's McGee, Soulive, Keller Williams, Michael Franti and Spearhead, The New Deal, and Mofro, among many others. De La Soul, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Toots and the Maytals, and the Hackensaw Boys add diversity and strength to an already powerful collection of talent. Performers will hold court on the festival's three stages until 9 p.m., setting the table for
late-night shows at The Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale. Soulive with Benevento Russo Duo (3/11), Particle with New Monsoon (3/12), and the New Deal with Perpetual Groove (3/13).
Tickets for these late shows are available individually or in combination for reduced admission at Langerado.com.
Festival tickets are on sale now, through Langerado's official site or by calling 1-800-594-TIXX. Advance two-day passes are $75 ($95 day of event), and VIP packages are also available.
A partnership between music promotion companies Brown Coffee Productions and South Florida Jams, the Langerado Music Festival began in 2003 with great aspirations. Those hopes have been furthered considerably through the festival's expansion to two days and its move to Markham Park, "a site we have dreamt of holding the event at since the very beginning," according to Langerado.com. In addition to Langerado's collection of microbrews, art exhibits, and musicians from around the country, the South Florida happening will offer one unsigned band the chance to perform at the festival.
This incredible opportunity comes through a joint venture with
Sonic Bids. For information on how to submit your band for consideration, please visit
