Manny Ramirez - BOS - OF Bats: R Age: 33 4x4: $33 5x5: $33
2004: OF: 132 DH: 19 Role: Starting Leftfielder
How’s this for a sign of greatness? Ramirez led the American League in OPS in 2004 despite finishing with his weakest total in six years. Capping the year off with a World Series MVP award should just about guarantee his place in Cooperstown, and it doesn’t look like he’s anywhere close to being done. Important from a fantasy perspective is that Ramirez has played in 150 games in back-to-back seasons. His hamstrings have given him problems, but he knows how to manage them. It’s unlikely that they’ll result in a DL trip in 2005, though something else might. If Ramirez stays healthy, he’s a lock to put up some of the league’s best numbers. With Vladimir Guerrero and David Ortiz almost overshadowing him, Manny is as good of a pick as he has been in years.
