From May–August of 2005, the Gipsy Kings—the singers and guitarists of the Reyes and Baliardo families—will return to the road for concert dates across North America. The first leg of the tour will include stops in Connecticut; New York; Boston; Baltimore; Toronto; Montreal; the Washington, DC area; Florida, Atlanta, and Texas. The band will return to the U.S. in August, playing shows in Washington state; Portland, OR; Los Angeles and other California cities; Albuquerque; Santa Fe; Nevada; Denver; Niagara Falls (CA); Chicago; and Minneapolis.

As artists born and raised in the Mediterranean musical tradition of cante jondo, the Gipsy Kings are among the truest and best-known exponents of the centuries-old Flamenco form. In the summer of 2003, the core members of the Gipsy Kings settled into a stone villa in the small town of St-Andre-de-Bueges in the south of France, where they collaborated with producer Craig Street on the 2004 Grammy-nominated acoustic release, Roots. For the first time in years, the band recorded without a drum kit, synthesizer, or electric bass, bringing the music closer to its Flamenco origins. Billboard called the record a "treasure," and People said, "Way beyond the strictures of language, these 16 songs will resonate with anyone who loves heartfelt, meticulously performed music." On this tour, the Gipsy Kings will play music from Roots, in addition to songs from their entire catalogue.
