American Idols to perform at the NASCAR NEXTEL CUP Coca-Cola 600

The Coca-Cola 600, known for its spectacular pre-race shows, will take pre-race entertainment to an all new level on May 29.

Contestants from the hit FOX television program, “American Idol,” will perform live along with popular show host Ryan Seacrest to headline the Coca-Cola 600 pre-race activities. The Idols will take the stage for several individual songs as well as two-group performances at approximately 3:30 p.m. The Idols will also perform the national anthem and Ryan Seacrest will handle public address duties for driver introductions.

In addition, Lowe’s Motor Speedway will become the first track ever to host six circus style, high-flying acrobatic acts. The crowd will be treated to “Galaxy Girl” doing death defying maneuvers 140-feet in the air, a high wire extreme trapeze team, a 150-foot Human Cannonball shot down the frontstretch and more! The acts will be spread out around the speedway in front of every major grandstand for easy viewing.

The pre-race show will also include other celebrity appearances by Leonard Nimoy, Cathy Lee Crosby, Robin Leach and General Peter Pace, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
