The Dells are one of the finest and longest-lived R&B vocal groups in history, and what's most amazing is that they've done it with nearly all the same members – they haven't changed personnel since 1960. Initially called the El-Rays, their first big hit came in 1956 with the doo wop classic “Oh What a Night,” which went to number five on the R&B charts. 1965 brought them a top 30 R&B hit with “Stay in My Corner” and 1968's Always Together, spun off another four singles. The Dell's have kept up with the times and adapted their music to the changes in time.

The Dramatics have been one of the most prolific, consistently entertaining groups of the last three decades. The group formed in the 1960's and got their first big hit with “Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get,” and follow-ups with “In The Rain” and “Toast to the Fool” which were even better, and have remained in active play on many stations for nearly 30 years. With Reynolds' gruff baritone and Ron Banks' soaring falsetto, a unique harmony was created that is still recognizable today. The Dramatics have continued to cut a new LP every few years, right up through 2002's Look Inside. In 2003, the group released “Greatest Hits Live,” a terrific peek at a 2001 Dramatics performance that shows the group still in fine form and a testament to the longevity of this great soul act.
