PRESALE PACKAGES: 2005 Fall and Holiday Entertainment Series at The Milwaukee Theatre
Wednesday, June 15, 2005 -- The Wisconsin Center District announced the schedule for the 2005 Fall and Holiday Entertainment Series at The Milwaukee Theatre. The upcoming fall/holiday season will feature five events including three special concerts, a smash hit dramatic play and a skating & singing holiday spectacular.
Instead of fixed subscriber packages, The Milwaukee Theatre is offering a flexible, value-based purchase plan that lets subscribers pick the shows they want to see, and at the prices that suit them best. Subscribers who buy tickets to just 2 shows can enjoy priority seating, while those who purchase tickets to 3 shows also save 5% off the base ticket prices, and subscribers to 4 or all 5 shows save 10% off the base ticket prices.
The eclectic entertainment line-up begins on October 8th with Five By Design's RADIO DAYS where audiences will laugh, cry, and sing along as they go "live" over the airwaves through the Golden Age of radio. Honoring America's "greatest generation," RADIO DAYS showcases many of the great songs, serials and jingles of the 1940s and features cameo appearances by legends Carmen Miranda and Betty Grable. Five By Design's RADIO DAYS is especially timely as the nation marks the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Direct from Ireland, the 5-member group,
CELTIC WOMAN, is captivating fans across the country with concerts on PBS. On October 21st, CELTIC WOMAN will enchant Milwaukee "live" with unique renditions of beloved Irish ballads such as "Danny Boy," timeless classics like "Ave Maria," and contemporary pop including Enya's "Orinoco Flow."
Four-time Emmy Award-winning television and motion picture star Valerie Harper stars as Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir in the Broadway smash
GOLDA'S BALCONY. A fascinating portrait of one of the great women of our time, GOLDA'S BALCONY will grip Milwaukee's hearts November 29th - December 4th, with 8 performances. Don't miss this record-breaking stage hit that recently sold-out for 15 months on Broadway!
On December 6th, conductor Keith Lockhart and "America's Orchestra," the world-famous
BOSTON POPS, will bring their holiday tour to Milwaukee for the first time in decades! The concert will feature timeless seasonal favorites from classical and popular music.
Bringing the series to a dramatic close with two shows on December 15th, Olympic Gold Medalist and Emmy Award winner Dorothy Hamill and Broadway's
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA title star Davis Gaines will headline the holiday edition of
BROADWAY ON ICE, an on-stage skating and musical extravaganza featuring holiday classics from Broadway and other genres of popular music.
