Highly acclaimed jazz virtuoso Garner Thomas will perform a free concert Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. on the new outdoor Forest Lawn Museum Plaza, 1712 S. Glendale Ave. in Glendale, in conjunction with the museum's latest exhibit, "Revolutions: Artists Who Rocked the World of Music Industry Graphics."
Thomas is noted for his circular breathing and ability to play two saxophones simultaneously - a feat that has left audiences around the world in awe. His musical training began at the age of 8 in Petersburg, Virginia, as he studied classical piano. Under the guidance of his music-loving parents, he was exposed to many classical and jazz recordings and switched his instrument of choice to the saxophone. By the time he was 18, Thomas had earned top marks in several music competitions and parlayed his talents into a bachelor of arts degree in music at Western Washington University. More>>>
