A winning record last year and fewer seats in Alltel Stadium have allowed the Jacksonville Jaguars to get much closer to selling out this year's games before the season starts.
The team has covered up nearly 10,000 seats in Alltel Stadium, reducing the number of seats that must be sold to avoid a television blackout. And the team has sold about 2,500 more season tickets for the upcoming season than it had at the same point last year.
"On average we probably have 4,000 seats to go per game," said Scott Loft, executive director of ticket sales for the team. "At this time last year it was probably close to 17,000."
The team said there are a limited number of tickets left for the season opener against Seattle on Sept. 11 and for the Nov. 13 game against Baltimore. Only club seats are available for the Dec. 11 game against Indianapolis.
Single-game tickets for Jaguars games go on sale to the public Saturday, and have already gone on sale for season ticket holders who want to buy additional tickets for select games. More>>>
