A temporarily downsized Bryant-Denny Stadium has helped Alabama sell out every football game for the first time in five seasons, including unsold tickets returned by opponents.
It is the first time since 2000 that Alabama has had a sellout for season tickets, according to an official with the university's donor program Tide Pride.
Bryant-Denny will seat some 81-thousand fans this season. That's about 28-hundred fewer because of construction on the north end of
the stadium that is part of a 45 (m) million dollars expansion to be completed by 2006.
U-A officials said none of last season's more than 40-thousand season ticket holders were denied access despite the reduction in seating.
The university sent letters informing about one-thousand fans on a waiting list that no more season tickets were available until 2006.
By the time Alabama opens the 2006 season against Hawaii, there will be some ten-thousand more tickets to sell.
The expanded Bryant-Denny will hold more than 90-thousand fans and have 38 new skyboxes. Source>>>
