BEAUMONT - Ford Park hosted a press conference earier this week to announce plans for the Labor Day Music Festival, which has basically become a tradition in its third consecutive year.
The third annual event will take place at 6 p.m. Sept. 4 at Ford Pavilion. The event will feature the return of local country music stars Tracy Byrd and Mark Chesnutt, along with local talent Zona Jones in support.
"We are pleased to announce the third annual Labor Day Music Festival," said Jones, an attorney as well as a country musician. "Thanks to the efforts of all of the sponsors, we are happy to announce that this year's event is free to the public."
Seating will be general admission, or on a first-come basis. Only sponsors will be allowed into the section 100 seats, but anyone that picks up the free tickets will be allowed into section 200 or the lawn hill.
"We are pleased to say that this is the first major concert at Ford Park that is absolutely free to the public," said Jefferson County Judge Carl Griffith.
Tickets will be available to the general public starting today. Express Marts all over the Golden Triangle, including the one in Bridge City on Texas Avenue, as well as Tri-Con Inc. convenience stores, which are also in Bridge City, will be the locations to pick up the free tickets. More>>>
