The first thing MTV fans want to know about the Video Music Awards, which will be telecast live from Miami's AmericanAirlines Arena on Aug. 28: How can I get in?

MTV executives provided the answer Monday when they announced that 2,000 tickets will be sold to the public beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Tickets will be sold only through Ticketmaster.com at prices of $100 and $200 and they will be reserved exclusively for South Florida residents, said MTV President Christina Norman.

The locals-only rule is intended as a gift to South Florida fans.

''It's really sort of special to be able to give something to the folks who have been so warm in their welcome to us,'' Norman said.

MTV also has partnered with six local radio stations to give away tickets in the coming days, though Norman declined to identify the stations. More>>>
