ACL tickets go for premium prices At Zilker Park the stage is nearly set. Workers are putting up the last of the platforms and the tents are ready and waiting for vendors to fill them up. Business at the ticket booths is booming. People who found creative ways to get their tickets early are now picking them up. While others, who bought their tickets long ago, are trading them in for wristbands. "I volunteered for my ticket. I stuffed a lot of envelopes for eight hours," Ishrat Kundawala said. Some signed up for e-mail alerts. "I was able to get regular updates as to when the tickets were going to be on sale and for the lowest price and which tickets were selling out," Buckley Wineholt said. And all are sold, save for a few Friday tickets that are going quickly. Now, those who are desperate for tickets are turning to the Internet and opening their wallets wide. Tickets are going for premium prices on e-Bay and craigslist: as much as $200 for a three-day pass. There are literally pages filled with nothing but ACL Fest tickets going to the highest bidder. "Scalping isn't illegal, and we know there's nothing that we can do to enforce that. It's just unfortunate those people didn't get their tickets earlier. We offered discounted tickets earlier in the year before we released the lineup," Lisa Shickel of Capital Sports & Entertainment, the producers of the show, said.
