The Indianapolis Colts believe they reached an acceptable compromise while raising a portion of their tickets for the 2006 season.
The team bumped prices for its four highest-priced tickets by between 7 and 9 percent. At the same time, it did not increase the cost of the three lowest-priced tickets, which covers approximately 15,000 seats in the 55,500-seat RCA Dome.
"You're going to have price increases in any business,'' Pete Ward, the team's senior executive vice president, said Friday. "What we have to strive to do is keep our product affordable.
"This increase will keep our average ticket price below the league average. It also leaves the lesser-price seats alone.''
Those would be tickets priced at $49, $39 and $19.
With the increases, the four top-tier prices are: $179 (up from $164), $99 (up from $89), $75 (up from $70) and $59 (up from $50).
Current season-ticket holders will receive a renewal invoice in February to retain their same seats. Fans who wish to purchase season tickets for the 2006 season can make a deposit online at www.colts.com or by calling 1-317-299-DOME Source>>>
