Three workers at LaSalle Bank Headquarters in Troy couldn't pass up an opportunity to buy Super Bowl tickets.
Now they are out $7,000 and 22 tickets after learning a Hamtramck woman selling the tickets has been charged by Troy and Detroit police with fraud in an investigation also involving the National Football League.
Troy police obtained warrants against Karen Reed, 45, following her arraignment in Detroit for similar frauds estimated at $42,000, Troy Lt. Gerry Scherlinck said.
"She really outlined a complicated and believable story," Scherlinck said. "She said she had a friend who had a suite at Ford Field. She gave a real in- depth story about her Detroit Police experience and promised stadium seat packages and suite packages." More>>>
