




First Annual Capital Hoops Classic on Tuesday, January 23 at 8:00 pm. Carleton University and the University of Ottawa announced that Scotiabank Place will showcase two of the top men's basketball programs in the country, when the Carleton Ravens take on the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees in the Capital Hoops Classic.
This game will mark the first of an annual regular-season event between the two schools, and will present some of the finest basketball players in the country. Carleton University enters the 2006-07 season as four-time defending national champions, an unprecedented string of success. During their four-year reign, the Ravens established a Canadian Interuniversity Sport record by winning 87 consecutive games, both regular season and playoffs. The University of Ottawa has also jumped into the spotlight as a national power in men's basketball. It was ranked in the Top 10 in Canada for much of the 2005-06 season, with its ranking peaking at NO. 2 in the country for two weeks in January and February of 2006.
The Capital Hoops Classic will be the first event leading into the CIS men's basketball championships, which will be staged at Scotiabank Place in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Tickets are $25.00 (Courtside VIP seats), $12 Adult Tickets and $10 Kids (12 and under) and Student Tickets (Valid ID required).
Ticket prices does not include the CRF and convenience charges.
