The Badgers will take on top-seeded North Carolina
Wisconsin wakes up, works way past N.C. State

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Wisconsin's offense don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing. In the first half Friday night the Badgers "swing" offense was out of tune and a step too fast, said coach Bo Ryan. Luckily, Wisconsin had Alando Tucker to get things back in the right rhythm.
The sixth-seeded Badgers advanced to the elite eight for the second time in six seasons with a 65-56 victory against 10th-seeded North Carolina State in the semifinals of the Syracuse Regional, overcoming a nightmarish first half in which Wisconsin trailed 30-21 after committing 11 turnovers and getting no assists. "I've never looked at stat sheet at halftime and seen numbers like that," said Ryan, who has written three books on offensive basketball and produced five instructional videos. "Thankfully, halftime came and we regrouped."
The Badgers will take on top-seeded North Carolina, which rallied in the second half and held off upset-minded Villanova 67-66. The Tar Heels advanced to the elite eight for the first time in five years and are one step away from the Final Four in coach Roy Williams' second season since returning to his alma mater from Kansas.
