NASCAR and Rock & Roll: At each racetrack there is normally a big name or two playing before the race
NASCAR AND ROCK N ROLL “HOW BAD HAVE I GOT IT?”

My love for
NASCAR began more than 4 years ago. Since that time my loyalty and addiction to the sport is stronger than ever. The one thing I probably didn’t realize at the time was how rock n roll and country music evolves around the sport.
At each racetrack there is normally a big name or two playing before the race.
Sheryl Crow,
Darrius Rucker, LeAnn Rimes,
Three Doors Down,
Kid Rock,
Diamond Rio just to name a few. Many drivers are associated with these very famous people and their band members. Darrius Rucker and
Hootie and the Blowfish are personal friends of Michael Waltrip. Diamond Rio and Kid Rock are good friends of Tony Stewart. Randy Owen from the group Alabama were great friends of the late Dale Earnhardt. Sheryl Crow was a big fan of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. even starring him in one of her videos in the summer of 2001.
The band Three Doors Down made their way onto a Busch car for a race a couple years ago which I believe was the Busch car owned my Dale, Jr. and Teresa Earnhardt. Tony Stewart was driver of the car for that race. As we learn about our favorite drivers, we learn what they like to eat, where they like to go on vacation, what their favorite color is and on and on.
We can log onto Nascar.com or the drivers’ website and find out just about anything want to know about them, their team and the car owners for whom they drive. Every Dale Earnhardt, Jr. fan knows he is a “rocker”. Like Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch, Dale Jr. is a big fan of Metillica. A few seasons ago he stated that he had a CD of KORN he liked to listen to while he was racing to keep him pumped up. It is wise to assume that Hard Rock and Heavy Metal is more Dale, Earnhardt, Jr’s. cup of tea.
