DES MOINES, Iowa -- Central Iowans are still talking about Monday night's Tom Petty concert at the new Wells Fargo Arena.
The show proved to be a big hit with concertgoers. Fans described the first concert at the new arena as "awesome."
About half the arena's capacity, or an estimated 8,500 people, attended the show that opened with the Black Crowes.
Most attendees raved about the comfort of the cushioned seats and the acoustics. The hope is the arena will help to draw more young people downtown.
The high-tech arena is already attracting a crowd of performers and fans that can't wait to come back.
There are 50 events booked in the Wells Fargo Arena.
The only complaint was the $5 beers.
Green Day and Paul McCartney are scheduled to perform at the arena this fall. Source>>>
