CLEVELAND (AP) - Bleary-eyed from a lack of sleep after 18 hours waiting on the sidewalk outside Jacobs Field, Cedric Wilson walked up to the window and got what he came for: Indians playoff tickets.
Although they haven't clinched a spot in the postseason yet, the Cleveland Indians, who have been baseball's hottest team for more than a month, put tickets on sale Saturday for next month's American League Division Series.
Wilson arrived at the Jake at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, lugging a folding chair and ticket orders from friends. He was first on a line of hundreds that by 10 a.m. Saturday had snaked around the ballpark's outfield fence.
Two hours later, the club said Games 1 and 2 were sold out and that tickets for Game 3 were going quickly.
"I had to get them," said Wilson, a disabled military veteran who plans to attend the games with other vets from Brecksville. "This team could do it this year." More>>>
