Let the Daytona countdown begin (if you haven't already)

Let your mind wander with me for a moment. This past week a snow storm paralyzed parts of the country ... on Christmas Day, many tuned in to see what would happen when the Pistons and Pacers played for the first time since their brawl in Auburn Hills ... it is sunny in Daytona Beach and temperatures this week are expected to climb into the 70s.
You know where I'm going with this, don't you?
Daytona 500 ... backstretch ... 1979 ... things get hot ... fists fly ... a snowed-in North tunes into the first live telecast of the Daytona 500 ...
Hey. It's 35 degrees outside as I write this (a warm front, actually). I'm thinking the sun and sand of Daytona, not the cold and snow of Saskatoon (which, by the way, is 3 degrees with a wind chill of -16).
Spring, don't fail me now.
Enough cold talk. Let's head south to the tropics.
