TUESDAY April 26 - THE SEATTLE SLAM - w/ Featured Poet Morris Stegosaurus -- You've Never Seen Poetry Like This Before The Seattle Poetry Slam is a weekly poetry extravaganza that takes every Tuesday at 8:00pm. If you'd like to sign up for the open mike, be sure to get there a little early. The show usually consists of music, an open mike, and a featured poet followed by the "slam." A slam is a competition of performance poets that is judged by randomly picked members of the audience. The poets who win the slams get cash prizes, and a chance to compete on the team that represents Seattle in the National Poetry Slam against 55 other teams from across the nation and Canada.
