Dallas will be the center of the hockey universe next January. The National Hockey League announced today that the Dallas Stars will host the 2007 NHL All-Star Game and the events that surround it. A press conference was held at American Airlines Center this morning to make it official. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman flew into Dallas today for the announcement and to chat with the Dallas-Ft. Worth media about the event.
The 55th All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday evening, January 24, 2007, at American Airlines Center. The arena will also hold the NHL SuperSkills and the YoungStars Game on Tuesday, January 23, 2007. There also will be a Monday All-Star event at American Airlines Center, with planning currently in its infancy stages. More details on the Monday event will be announced at a later date, but early indications are that it will honor many of the great players in NHL history who have recently retired.
"We are thrilled and excited about hosting the 2007 NHL All-Star Game in Dallas," said Stars President Jim Lites. "We're elated that we will be able to give Stars Full Season Seat Holders the opportunity to purchase tickets to the All-Star Game and the events that surround it."
Tickets to the 2007 NHL All-Star Game will be made available to Dallas Stars Full Season Seat Holders before any possible individual tickets are released to the general public.
"Dallas Stars Full Season Seat Holders will have the first priority in purchasing tickets to the 2007 NHL All-Star Game and the All-Star events that week, based on account tenure," said Lites. "These fans will have the best opportunity to attend these once-in-a-lifetime events coming to American Airlines Center next year."
Fans interested in becoming a Dallas Stars Season Seat Holder and giving themselves the best opportunity to get 2007 NHL All-Star Game tickets are encouraged to call 214 GO STARS, extension 2, for more information.
"The All-Star Game is a great event," said Dallas Stars captain Mike Modano, who has appeared in eight NHL All-Star Games. "There is so much to do and all of the players enjoy the events as much as the fans. Having the game here in Dallas will be wonderful. That will definitely make for a great time." More>>>
