Grateful Garcia Gathering Black River Falls, Wisconsin

For the second year in a row, Black River Falls, Wisconsin, will host the Grateful Garcia Gathering, a celebration of the life, music, and art of Jerry Garcia.

Set to take place July 29 through August 1, 2005, this year's 3G's honors Jerry's 63rd birthday and marks the tenth anniversary of the legendary guitarist's untimely death.

Once again, the festival's headliner will be the Jerry Garcia Band, featuring longtime friend and JGB keyboardist Melvin Seals, as well as guitarist John Kadlecik, front man for the Dark Star Orchestra. Also appearing at The 3G's are Waterband and Boney Fingers, both repeat performers, in addition to many other like-minded outfits. "Children under 12 get in free at this family-friendly event. And they're bound to have a great time at Black River Falls' NCN-North Campground, which features "60 acres of gorgeous surroundings, a five-acre spring fed lake with sandy beaches, modern bathroom facilities with showers, [and] other deluxe accommodations."
